That is a fantastic video. I wasn’t familiar with Dan Kraus. I’ll have to look him up. Last year (I think) I was in line at a movie theater. We were on our way to watch The Descent. I had a copy of The Angry Clam with me and was reading it while we were waiting to get drinks. A guy behind me tapped my shoulder and told me to get moving. I shuffled along.
When we got into the theater, my wife said “Oh, I thought you were going to get into it with that guy.” “Why?” I asked. Apparently he had mentioned that I was getting a little big to be reading books in public. I hadn’t heard a word:)
Isn’t that the point? I find that the ability to get lost in a book is a gift. And I personally believe that it’s more scarce in generation text-message. I grew up loving books, and I notice that the more time I spend online, the harder it is for me to concentrate on “hard” reading. I WANT to read and still have a hard time sometimes without my hyperlinks. I talked about this with Leslie Burger at a conference in Salt Lake City. She said she was glad to hear she wasn’t the only book-lover who was forgetting to read on paper.
Love the video. Love the site. Thanks for another great entry.
