I received a “mysterious” email today, which led me to the official website (nothing there yet), and then to Amazon to get details. They had a great trailer for the game, but I was surprised to find that you can only “share” their video links via email to one person. Go figure. So then I went to YouTube, where I found several trailers, all of which I could embed here if I wanted to.
Talk about narrative in games. I’m a puzzle gamer, so this is now at the top of my list. Even if you’re not, though, it’s worth it to watch the trailer, as it’s more interesting than many Hollywood movie trailers.

Yeah, I got that link too and I have to say that it does look quite appealing. I just hope that the puzzles are well integrated. Too bad we’ve got to wait 3 weeks!

Thanks for blogging about this. I’m planning to talk about the critical thinking and learning in Layton close to the release date. Feb. is a good month for games that teach on the DS with both Professor Layton and Apollo Justice (the sequel to the Phoenix Wright series) coming out.
I actually pre-ordered Layton back in the fall, when it was scheduled for a Nov. release. This is definitely a game worth promoting. Here’s hoping your post will stir up some more interest in the library gaming community.

Now I just need to steal my daughter’s DS for a while.

I wouldn’t have been surprised to find that you can share the video links to one email. Pretty clever ARG-like promotion! I’m just surprised to find that there isn’t more to the meta-game…

Looks great! Now, if I can just finish “Phoenix Wright: Justice for All” before then. I have not been moving through that quickly at all.

Seeing a red x box … or was that the point?

I can see it okay, Donavan – it’s an embedded video from YouTube. Can you try it on a different browser and let me know if you still can’t see it? Thanks.
