can’t bring myself to buy the #kindle version of a “224 page” book because it costs $17. what’s your personal price point for ebooks? [shifted]
diigo (feed #20)

The last chapter of the Networked Nonprofit is on networked governance. We thought this would be an easy part of the book to write – all we’d have to do is find examples of how boards online, opening up decisionmaking to outside influences. There were no examples – so the last chapter of the book is speculative, based on the best thinking of the people who have looked at networked governance. I dreamed up some scenarios of boards and social media in practice.

@wawoodworth no hardcover; paperback version is $23. just seems wrong to me, even though I want to read it. [shifted]
twitter (feed #3)
@bmljenny @wawoodworth @HiddenPeanuts I buy like @griffey does. if price had been =<$12 I’da bought it but 75% cost of print seems wrong [shifted]
twitter (feed #3)
@wawoodworth I’m not sure it’s only wrong b/c of Amazon’s pricing. 75% cost of print for 224 pages? [shifted]
twitter (feed #3)
me, too RT @griffey: @shifted I find myself impulse buying at <$10, thinking about it at around $12, and more than $15 they can forget it. [shifted]
twitter (feed #3)
@gershbec I feel bad b/c I’d like to support this author & it’s a trade book I could use but it will likely be lost revenue for the author [shifted]
twitter (feed #3)
@arekdreyer agreed — I’d be willing to pay more if it meant more content or features but it looks like a straight conversion from print [shifted]
twitter (feed #3)
@bmljenny yes, I can’t check the ebook version out from my library & I don’t want to read the print copy, so no $ for author/publisher [shifted]
generic (feed #10)
twitter (feed #3)
@arekdreyer maybe but indexing is less important in an ebook & there are no add’l features. what do you think the “more” is here? (honest ?) [shifted]
twitter (feed #3)
@arekdreyer respectfully disagree. don’t want 2 pay same $ when it costs u nothing 2 print & send to me. ur costs r lower-mine should be too [shifted]

Manymoon is a social productivity tool that makes it simple to get work done online:

* Anything — you can use Manymoon for whatever you need to accomplish: launching a new product, planning an event or building a house.
* Anyone — Manymoon is simple enough for anyone to use since there’s no training or setup required.
* Anywhere — Manymoon can be used with people inside and outside of your organization. And since it’s online all you’ll need is an internet connection to get working!

I hear people rave about Instapaper all the time, but I rarely see them expound on their affection in any detail. This post is pretty much the most thorough thought dump of how Instapaper works for me in 5 categories:

1. Uses for Instapaper folders
2. Instapaper search
3. Getting information into Instapaper
4. Miscellaneous Instapaper extras online
5. iOS Instapaper app options and tips

Published Help us redesign!.

This fall, we’ll be redesigning the Connect home page (the “dashboard”) and the groups home page (what you see when you go to a group). I certainly have some ideas about what needs to change, but we really want to hear from you.
We need at least a half-dozen volunteers who are willing to work with the company doing the redesign to give input and answer questions via phone and email. If you’re interested in helping us make Connect even better, please leave a comment or contact me at jlevine [at] ala.org.
