Melissa, I'm sorry you were offended by the link, but this is a personal site, and I post items I think will be of interest to librarians. I linked to the "State of the Web" because I think it's important for tech librarians to know the major memes, and regardless of how offensive the 2g/1c one is to you, I think it's valid to highlight so we know it's out there and don't accidentally stumble upon it with a patron or co-worker.

It's not difficult to find it on the web, and the Wikipedia article was one of the tamest links I could find, so I disagree that I "stuck it in your face." You can easily read the first paragraph on that page and decide it isn't for you without ever seeing any pictures or videos.

I'm sorry if this causes you to unsubscribe, as I value all of my readers and their comments, but I can't guarantee that I won't link to other items that I think it's important for librarians to know about, regardless of how tasteless they might be. I can promise that I'll continue to label those links with a warning, although I'll try to include a stronger one for this kind of content in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about this.

I find it pretty offensive that, on a site dedicated to library science and the marvelous advances being made in technology and use of libraries, that you would link to the 2 girls 1 cup filth. The original page you linked to didn't even do that. There is such a thing as making it too easy for people to get more info on a topic, when that topic is better left to "research it yourself if you must". Not for the faint of heart? How about "you don't want to know". That's what I was told the only other time I stumbled across mention of that topic, and I took their word for it. Maybe that means I'm not exploring the web to its fullest, but I'm fine with that. Don't stick it in our faces...I've been subscribed to your feed for many months, and I didn't expect that here.
And yes, it is more than a month later and every time I check out your feed I cringe and wonder if it will contain something similar, so I decided it was time to comment. Yes I could unsubscribe. I haven't, because your content is normally so wonderfully informative and I love the concise style of your bullet-list posts. Please don't give me another reason to leave.
