Going Home Tonight

It's much hotter in Dallas than it is in Chicago. Tonight when I go home, it's supposed to be 30 degrees. Yikes!

The above was a demonstration of blogging at a presentation to SLA members in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I co-presented with Sabrina Pacifici (pronounced Pa-ch-ifi-ch-i!) on the topics of blogging and (quite briefly) RSS. Sabrina also followed up with a discussion of competitive intelligence, which was quite interesting to me because this is an area I've never really dealt with. You folks have no clue how much law librarians know! It was a pleasure to get to talk with Sabrina again.

And I can't say enough great things about the folks behind the Texas Library Association conference! Besides the fact that they treat you quite well, they put on a heck of a show. Color me impressed. I met an incredible number of wonderful people in Texas, whom I can't name for fear of leaving someone out, but I do want to give special thanks to Barbara Fullterton (I'll link to her when she starts her blog!) and Yvonne Chandler. You both rock!

Presentations from last week (all PDFs):
George Jetson Goes to the Library
Gadgets Galore (I'll link to this when I have the URL)
Blogging 101 (a pointer to the CIL version since it was essentially the same)
Unleashing the Power of RSS (again, a pointer to the CIL version since it was essentially the same)
