Help Cyn and Xu Name their Blog!

Blog Ambition

"One of the topics on our agenda was a way to work together creatively. Xu is very funny and a born columnist, so naturally, I suggested a blog. At her horrified expression, I hastily explained that she wouldn't have to reveal her innermost secrets. It would be a PROFESSIONAL blog, with library-related stuff--what we're reading, interesting stuff we've found, and of course, our witty, world-weary observations on librarians and the library world. She agreed to give it a try.

Now, we need a name. Our favorite, the Lipstick Librarian, is long taken (and done very well). So are the Rogue Librarian, the Shifted Librarian, and the Pernicious Librarian. Even the Bellydancing Librarian has a Web presence. So what's left?

At supper, Connie suggested 'Book Bitches'--too, well, TOO. Later, over a margarita, she suggested 'Top Shelf Librarians,' which I kind of liked, and 'The Reserved Librarian,' which is a great pun but not very accurate for our extroverted selves. Ellen joined us for dessert and suggested 'Librarians from Hell,' which has merit and possibly truth, but might not pass the filters.

We're at an impasse here. Anyone have any other suggestions? No prize for the winner, but we WILL mention you in the blog. At least once." [Original Cyn's Journal, via Technorati Link Cosmos for The Shifted Librarian]

Lockergnome Takes on RSS

Lockergnome's RSS Resource

"For a while now, you've probably been hearing all sorts of things about RSS; we are just beginning to see its power and potential. Information on this 'new' syndication format has (to this point) been scattered and somewhat tricky to understand. We're aiming to change that trend with this particular Lockergnome resource.

This was designed to be driven by several contributors, but only fellow evangelists and technologists need apply. Experts and novices should be able to turn here for the latest updates, and we'll keep expanding and fine-tuning the 'About' page until our fingers bleed." [via C:PIRILLO.EXE]

This is a great new resource about RSS! If you're still on the fence or don't quite "get it" yet, try tracking this site and see if it helps. You can always count on Chris Pirillo's work, so this will most likely become one of the foremost sites for following syndication.

For those of us who are already addicted to RSS, there are several feeds from which to choose, one covering all of the content and one for each section:

You know what to do!
